There’s something about standing at the edge of the water that makes everything feel simpler.

Last spring, my family and I traveled to Maui with close friends. We stayed in a small Airbnb, cooked most of our meals together, explored beaches, watched our kids run into the waves, and let the days unfold slowly.

I brought my sketchbook everywhere.

Not to create finished artwork — but to notice.
The shape of the shoreline.
The dark volcanic rocks against the turquoise water.
The way the wind moved through the trees.

Those sketches — along with the photographs I took — became the starting point for this new collection: Coastal Notes.

Some pieces are soft and airy, more abstracted. Others hold tighter lines and more contrast — dark shoreline against luminous water. But all of them are meant to feel like a place you’ve been before.

A place you return to. A place where you remember the best version of yourself.

Whether your favorite beach is Maui, the Outer Banks, Cape Cod, or somewhere entirely your own, my hope is that these paintings help your home hold that memory.
